Quick Terrain Modeler Version 8.4.4 Release Notes

Quick Terrain Modeler Version 8.4.4 Release Notes

Applied Imagery is pleased to announce the release of QT Modeler v8.4.4. This update introduces time-saving surface creation tools, editing enhancements, and a complete overhaul of ATAK and route export workflows.

Easy Surface Generation

QTM v8.4.4 introduces a streamlined workflow for generating surfaces and subsetted point clouds directly from existing filtering tools.

Two new buttons — Generate Surface and Generate Points — have been integrated into the discrete, continuous, and multivariate filtering workflows. These additions make it significantly faster to create surfaces or filtered point cloud outputs without interrupting the editing process.

This enhancement is especially valuable for point cloud-centric workflows where speed and efficiency are critical.

Consistent Point Cloud Classification Colors

Point cloud classification coloring has been improved to ensure classification values always display with consistent colors.

Previously, colors could shift depending on how many classification values existed or if values were added or removed. In v8.4.4, a given classification value will always retain the same color mapping for improved clarity and workflow consistency.

Interactive Selection Area Node Editing

Selection areas now support interactive node editing.

Users can double-click a selection area to enter editing mode. The selection area turns yellow and editable nodes appear as large points.

From there:

  • Drag nodes to reposition them

  • Right-click to add nodes

  • Right-click to delete nodes

This functionality currently supports:

  • Z Polygon selection areas

  • Screen Select selection areas

These improvements make refining selection boundaries much faster and more intuitive.

Completely Redesigned ATAK Export Workflow

QTM v8.4.4 includes a fully redesigned ATAK export interface.

The new export system makes it much easier to understand which scene elements are being exported while also giving users precise control over included content.

Route Export Improvements

ATAK route exports have also been significantly improved:

  • ATAK checkpoints are now embedded directly into routes

  • Routes navigate using checkpoints rather than only turn points

  • Distance calculations now reference the next checkpoint

This creates a more intuitive and functional navigation experience inside ATAK.
